..The Director looked absolutely horrified when I casually mentioned the condition. This was because of the perception he had of epilepsy. This perception can be altered with education, however. And how does an employer become educated? By hiring someone with epilepsy! It is amazing how quickly colleagues become used to working with someone who has seizures and I guess it is kind of rewarding to think that I have educated people who’ve not had experience of the condition and perhaps never would have if it were not for working with me..
